The Monitoring and evaluation training of the AMG Uganda staff was a two-day activity from 12th -13th November 2024 at Upendo Christian school.
In the beginning, God the Almighty after He created everything, He evaluated what He had made and behold it was all very good, Genesis 1:31. Therefore its crucial in life to evaluate and monitor everything in life, let be work, family, personal growth, relationships everything.
The first day of the training commenced at 8:00 am with an opening prayer and introduction of the topic by Training coordinator. The AMG Director sensitized the staff about the importance of the training and planning. “Without planning you can’t know whether you have reached or not.” He said. And also emphasized that monitoring is the process of periodically collecting, analyzing of information to actively manage performance, maximize positive impacts and minimize the risk of adverse impacts of the project. Evaluation is a process that critically examines a program. It includes collecting and analyzing information about a program’s activities and characteristics.
On 12th November, the 1st trainer took us through the fundamentals and key concepts of Monitoring and Evaluation, and these include temporary activities, specific objectives, time, budget and uniqueness. Monitoring is a continuous activity and evaluation is done periodically.
As rescued Christians, God requires us to go and rescue, restore and raise souls into the crawl of Jesus Christ Jude 1:23. These words marked the beginning of the 2nd day of the training by the deputy national director. He urged everyone in their respective positions to blow a trumpet using the word of truth and life that never changes “the Bible” as the main guide.
Later on, the sponsorship coordinator AMG Uganda reminisced about the training she attended in Philippines in October about Child and Youth Development where the emphasis is to allow the Lord to use us. {Matthew 6:9-13.} And also reminded the participants that AMG international is a gospel centered organization that serves through child and youth development, media evangelism, discipleship, healthcare, rescue and disaster relief and by the grace of God.
AMG International prioritizes local leadership and it exists to encourage, equip and develop Christ centered national leaders to become instruments of advancement and community transformation.
Finally, the discipleship coordinator reminded staff that there’s need to increase contact hours with our beloved children in order to make a great impact. And some of the strategies include reviving our zonal fellowships, church outreach programs, home visitations, bible vacation programs and intentional Saturday programs.
IT IS A MASSIVE BLESSING TO SERVE GOD THROUGH AMG.
