Woord en Daad Otuke

Isaiah 43:19 states, “See, I am doing a new thing.” Otuke is the newest project for AMG-Uganda, located in Olilim Village, Otuke District, in northern Uganda. Currently, the project nurtures 160 children holistically through education, health, economic support, and spiritual care.

Poverty in northern Uganda is unparalleled, largely due to the prolonged civil conflict from 1986 to 2006. In partnership with Woord en Daad, AMG-Uganda carries out Community Integrated Resilient Projects to combat poverty through Participatory Integrated Planning for families, communities, and villages. The project works with 20 households from the community, known as farmer innovators, for one year. They receive training in modern agricultural practices to enhance their production, supported with plant seeds and farming tools. After completing the PIP program, each graduate is encouraged to teach 10 households, welcoming new learners at the CDC.

In August 2024, sustainable water access was ensured at Olilim Secondary School through the establishment of a borehole, aimed at providing clean water and improving the school’s administration. This borehole became fully operational in September 2024, supplying clean water to 350 students and benefiting 100 nearby homes daily.

Spiritual care is essential in the AMG family. As highlighted in Proverbs 22:6, children are nurtured spiritually through Saturday programs and holiday activities that emphasize a holistic approach equipping them for a perfect presentation. During these programs, children learn the word of God, spend quality time together, and share meals filled with uplifting smiles.
